here are no shortage of lovely places to stay in Búzios. There are plenty of hotels, pousadas (aka bed and breakfasts), and AirBnbs all over town. Regardless of where you stay, Ubers are extremely common in the city. You'll also find cabs, but I tend to prefer Ubers since the app leads to more accountability in terms of good service.

It's easy to get around town and you should explore if you can. That being said, you might want to consider what activities you're most interested in when you're picking your accommodations.

To help you make a decision, we've included price estimates based on the dollar-real exchange rate in July 15th, 2023. Please check the hotel site for accurate prices. Most hotels have pools and include breakfast in the daily rate. I'd also recommend booking directly through the website of hotels if possible, as Booking.com and similar websites have fees on top of the rates.

Proximity to venue

If you prioritize being close to our venue, here are some nearby recommendations. It's important to know our venue is located on top of a hill with cobblestone paving, so walking up on heels could be tricky.

Insólito Boutique Hotel & Spa
  1. Jubarte Conceito Hotel. (~$90 per night – 10% discount if you message/email them and mention our names & wedding) 300 feet from the venue, so you could walk to the wedding. Ocean views from their restaurant. A 3 minute walk to Ferradura Beach.
  2. Insólito Boutique Hotel & Spa. (~$420 per night) About 300 feet from the venue, so you could walk to the wedding. Luxurious hotel, you can book ocean front rooms.
  3. Pousada Vila Raphael. (~$188 per night) Located on Ferradura beach, 15 minute walk away from the wedding venue. Charming boutique hotel. Possible to book ocean front rooms.

Proximity to downtown

If you want to be in the middle of the action downtown, consider staying near Rua das Pedras. You'll be close to dozens of restaurants, notable night clubs like Privilége and local stores. This is the go-to spot for people who are looking for a good night out.

It's important to note that bathers don't usually go hang out or go swimming at the beach you see below. Typically, folks will go to Praia dos Ossos or Praia Azeda, which might be a 20–30 minute walk or more depending on where you are.

Vila D'este
  1. Vila D'este. (~$300 per night) Luxurious hotel with a view of Praia da Armação. Possible to book ocean front rooms.
  2. Pousada Vila do Mar. (~$72 per night – 10% Discount coupon code for website: BEATOM) Boutique hotel with excellent location near restaurants in Rua das Pedras with a view of the Praia da Armação beach.
  3. Pousada Abracadabra (~$168 per night) Boutique hotel with excellent location near restaurants in Rua das Pedras with a view of the Praia da Armação beach.
  4. Pousada Corsário Búzios (~$135 per night) Beachfront boutique hotel with a view to Praia dos Ossos with excellent location near restaurants in Rua das Pedras.

Water sports

If you prioritize surfing or boogie boarding, consider staying near Geribá beach. This is a huge, lively beach that I've spent the most time in out of all the beaches in Búzios. There are a ton of surfing schools and instructors, the famous açaí spot and nightclub Fishbone.

Espelho das águas
  1. Espelho das águas. (~$112 per night) Beachfront boutique hotel located on Geribá beach. Possible to book ocean front rooms.
  2. Pousada dos Tangarás. (~$100 per night) Boutique hotel that's an easy 5 minute walk from Geribá beach. I usually stay pretty close to this with my family and this place is always packed.
  3. Pousada do Namorado. (~$80 per night – 10% Discount coupon code for website: BEATOM) An easy ten minute walk from Geribá beach. Simple, but charming accommodations. Right next to the condo where I always go with my family.
  4. Pousada Praia Bela (~$30 per night) Also a  easy ten minute walk from Geribá beach.  Very simple accommodations, but great location right next to Pousada do Namorado.

If you're into kite surfing, wind surfing or all of the new stuff I might not even have heard of, you should consider staying close to Manguinhos beach. It's one of the windiest beaches in town, which makes it perfect for wind-related sports. There's also Porto da Barra nearby, a hub with excellent restaurants and the most beautiful sunset in town.

  1. Peixe Crew Manguinhos (~$70 per night) Cozy Pousada that’s a 2 minute walk to Manguinhos beach. You can also walk to Manguinhos beach from here.
  2. Pousada Sable D’Or (~$60 per night) 5 minutes away from Manguinhos beach.

Final tips and tricks

There are too many excellent choices and hotels to list, so if none of these feels like the right fit for you, fear not! My last parting advice if you choose something on your own is to keep an eye out for steep hills. There are some gorgeous hotels on cliffsides, but that means you'll either get a great leg workout or need to uber any time you leave the hotel.

Happy hotel hunting and let us know if you have any questions!
