f this is your first time traveling to Brazil, you might have a lot of questions. Here's a handy checklist to keep in mind to get you ready for your trip.
12–9 months in advance
1. Verify that you have a valid passport and renew it if necessary.
9–6 months in advance
2. Take the recommended vaccines. Typically this means Typhoid, Yellow Fever and Rabies. This is an optional step. Rio and Búzios are very urban cities, so I personally am not concerned about most of the diseases the CDC warns you about – those are more relevant if you're going somewhere like the Amazon forest.
3. Book flights.
6-3 months in advance
4. Update: The requirement for tourist visas has been postponed for American citizens.
5.Book your hotel or accommodations.
6. RSVP through our website or by mail until April 10th 2024.
7. If you want to extend your trip and visit Rio, this might be a good time to book a tour guide to show you around.
2–1 month in advance
8. Book a shuttle or private car to take you from the airport to your accommodations in Búzios. A shuttle from the Rio Airport to Búzios for 15 people goes for around 300 dollars – we'll provide a contact info for a specific company closer to the wedding. Alternatively, getting an uber is straightforward and goes for around 80 dollars.
9. Get an international cell phone plan. Having internet is essential to getting around.
